You will look back with amazement at the distance you have traveled and where you have been. Right now, you are probably feeling excited, but a bit overwhelmed. Don’t worry; most people feel that way when they experience something new. The Bible calls what you’ve experienced a “new birth” in 1 Peter 1:3. So, by entering into a personal relationship with God, you have been given a new spiritual life made possible by the death and resurrection of Jesus. He paid the penalty for our sin so that we could have a personal relationship with God. What an amazing demonstration of love! Most new believers ask the same question: Why me? Why should God send His Son to die for me? John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This undeserved favor from God is called grace. You can do nothing to earn this great gift. But out of His unfathomable and unconditional love for you, God has extended the opportunity to become His child. The more you learn about God’s grace, the more you will understand the amazing things God will reveal about Himself.
